The Best Campsite in Spain
(in my opinion)
The sea at Las Palmeras
Dogs obviously like it too.
The view to the east is dominated by a pine forest,
and to the west (magnified) is the ancient town of Tarragona.
Years ago, we lodged in a tent with our two boys,
but now we sleep in a chalet on our own,
sometimes just feet from the see.
Very convenient.
A rail line goes over the entrance.
In June you have the bar-restaurant to yourself,
and most of the rest of the place too.

The Palace Bar offers a view of the swimming pool,
but what used to be called the Frankfurt Bar, owing to the large number of Germans who used to come here when we first knew it as a ramshakle construction with a corrugated roof is closed in June.
Frankfort Bar in 1990. It was constructed with asbestos roof and thatched walls (covering asbestos)?
Behind the bar, a windsurfing shack.
A walk through the pine forest
brings you to a place we have christened 'Starkers' Bay',
a beech frequented by people who swim and sun themselves in the nude.
